1. Thank you so much! I wanted to say that your blog posts about your experience at a small press publisher and your decision to go independent were phenomenal. Really refreshing. I feel like the “author’s journey narrative” on a lot of blogs gets hung up either on how to get an agent or whether to “just” self-publish. Thank you for sharing your journey in such thoughtful detail. (And the number of comments on the posts goes to show it touched a lot of people!)

      1. Thanks, Marcy. There are pros and cons to most of the approaches. We just need to find what works and it won’t be the same for everyone. The good news is that if something isn’t working, it can be changed. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Claudia! I try to go running on this stretch of beach as often as I can – the descent down to the water is quite steep, so it deters all but the most ardent beach goer, especially in impending bad weather! But it means I sometimes get a private moment on a California beach for a price I can afford!

    1. Thank you! Yes – let’s keep those reservoirs filling up – I picture the same thing happening all over the state! A couple of years ago I went to Sequoia National Park in February and there was 0% snow pack. It was one of the most depressing ecological scenes I have ever seen. Enjoy your trip to the snow-filled Sierras!
