Illustrated Thursday – Moriturus, stanzas VII to IX – Millay

MoriturusVII_IXWhen I illustrated “Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird” by Wallace Stevens over the summer, each stanza really called out to me individually and I explored all sorts of media and compositions. For “Moriturus,” I have been drawn to constrain myself a bit and really explore one medium and theme and see where that takes me. Week three of the series is here already – read the whole poem here if you desire – or come back each Thursday and join me on this journey. Stanzas I-III and IV-VI, respectively, if you’d like to see where we have been. Drawing (marker on paper) and composition by me.
