Double Original Friday – Found Poetry, Found Art

HallFoundPoetry

I am an avid collector of “found poetry” – the idea that poetry is all around us and that it can be found in and derived from unexpected places (you can see more examples from my collection here and here). Today’s post is doubly “found” – the found poem is from an ongoing email correspondence about writing and poetry I have been having with Mr. Matthew J. Hall of Screaming with Brevity and the portrait I found discarded in the trash near my apartment. I cut the portrait in half and worked with the ink on top of it. Happy Friday!

    1. Thank you so much – your comment totally made my day! I love finding things on my walks to work and this drawing was a real treasure I found over the summer. I get a similar feeling when I “find” poetry too.

I am looking forward to January and another round of collaboration!
