Excerpt Tuesday – Everyone Sang – Siegfried Sassoon

In honor of Remembrance Day (Veteran’s Day in the U.S.), I am posting an excerpt from Siegfried Sassoon’s famous poem “Everyone Sang.” You can read the whole poem here. Siegfried Sassoon served in WWI, was wounded in action as well as decorated for his heroism, and then became famous for his often graphic poetry capturing life in the trenches and protesting the continuation of the war. Photograph and composition by me.
