Double Original Friday – Audacious

Audacious

Marcel Duchamp’s  “In Advance of the Broken Arm” is amongst his most famous readymades – this 1964 version (the fourth version, made after the lost original of 1915 – more lost art!) hangs in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. The day I visited MOMA, the shovel slowly turned overhead from its mount in the ceiling, continuing to beguile visitors even now, nearly 100 years after the original debut. Poem (two for one – shape poetry and ekphrastic poetry), photographs, and composition by me. For some amazing (and much more famous) shape – also known as “concrete” – poetry, check out this link. Enjoy!
