Old Poem Saturday – Micropoetry by Sandburg

Carl Sandburg’s “Fog” is the poem for Saturday (and I have no good excuse why this didn’t get posted until Sunday!). “Fog” is one of my favorites – this is the poem that sits opposite a picture of my childhood cat, Frank, in a frame on my bookshelf. She (yes, she) was a little gray cat who lived to the ripe old age of 17 and this poem always reminds me of her. Photo collage (from a photograph of a particularly artistic cappuccino I recently had) and composition by me. Have a lovely weekend!

  1. Marcy, what a delight to find another poet/writer/artist who loves Sandburg’s “Fog” as much as I do! I have been enthralled by that singular short poem since 1960, my second year in college. I love it even more, now that I know what lovely associations it has for you and a beloved cat who has passed from this life. Thank you for starting my day so wondrously! –Ron–
