Stanza VII of Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird by Wallace Stevens (1879-1955) is illustrated by a photograph taken in the abandoned gold mine town of Bodie, California by the fabulous Ms. Dawn Wenrich. I am pleased to announce that Dawn has a brand new website – check it out here. If you want to see the illustrations that the stanzas of the immortal Wallace Stevens’ poem have inspired so far, here they are: I, II, III, IV, V, VI. Enjoy!

    1. Thank you, Cindy! I appreciate you digging into my archives a bit – the “Blackbird” series is still one of my favorites. I’m on the hunt for my next long poem to serially illustrate, but few lend themselves as well to it as Wallace Stevens’ classic!

I do so enjoy your blog. Your travels and photography are so incredible and inspirational – I am excited to see where you are headed next. Safe travels to you!
