Excerpt Tuesday – A Locomotive In Winter – Walt Whitman

Today it is my pleasure to present a collaborative piece – the poem is from Walt Whitman’s (1819-1892) “A Locomotive in Winter” (to refresh us with cooling thoughts in the July heat) – read the whole poem here. The photo collage is by the very talented Ms. Amy Crawford – photographer, artist, videographer and graphic designer.  Please check out all of her work here. Composition by me. Enjoy!

A note about another collaboration I’ve been participating in – over at Red String Paper Cuts, they’ve been running a poetry challenge to write a poem a week, each week about a different one of the Seven Deadly Sins. You’ve missed Greed, Lust, and Gluttony – although check out the poems for those – but there still time to join in for Envy, Pride, Anger, and Sloth! Come on down!
