The forms of poetry may vary, but the desire to express oneself universal – NY Times article

This article is two years old (published originally in 2012), but it is so moving that I have come back to it a couple of times. It is about women poets in Afghanistan today and how they risk their lives to write and be heard. Also features information about traditional forms of poetry in that region of the world – in particular the landai – a Pashtun poetic device.
